Family Advocacy & School Support

Partnering with families to navigate schools, strengthen home routines, and connect with community resources.

Sometimes what families need most is someone in their corner.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by school, behavior, parenting, routines, diagnoses, or simply trying to figure out what comes next, you're not alone.

We partner with families to provide guidance, connect you with resources, and help you navigate the systems that support your child and family.

Our Philosophy

At River Valley Therapy Co., we believe that parents and caregivers are the experts on their children. Our role is not to take over or speak for families—it is to walk alongside them with knowledge, encouragement, and practical support.

We believe that when families understand the systems around them, have access to meaningful resources, and feel confident asking questions, they are better equipped to make informed decisions for their children. Our approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in the core values of social work: dignity, self-determination, advocacy, and equitable access to resources.

Rather than creating conflict, we strive to build partnerships between families, schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations so everyone can work toward the same goal: helping children thrive.

What This Service Is Not

Family Advocacy & Support Services is not psychotherapy, counseling, behavioral health treatment, or clinical case management. Participation in this service does not establish a therapist-client relationship or create a mental health diagnosis or treatment plan.

Instead, this service is educational, consultative, and supportive in nature. The focus is on helping families understand systems, access resources, strengthen collaboration, and make informed decisions—not on providing mental health treatment.
